In our modern life cellphone becomes a necessity for everybody, no matter how young or old a person is, how rich or poor a person be. Almost everybody now uses cell phone and sadly even infants through their pregnant mothers are so exposed to it. A cellphone to some becomes the most important gadget, as if they can live without it.
What will you do if too much exposure to cellphone will increase the risk of brain cancer? Will it be possible for us to set aside this very gadget that represents the modern times in order to avoid its possible damage to our body?
The National Cancer Institute conducted a research about cellphone use as a potential cause of brain cancer. According to the study, radio waves or radio frequency energy emitted from the cellphone is one of the possible reasons for it to cause cancer. It is a form of electromagnetic radiation, which falls into two types: ionizing and non-ionizing.
Based on the research, they found out that the energy of electromagnetic radiation determined from ionizing radiation is high frequency while non-ionizing radiation has low frequency which is low in energy. Every time a cellphone is used, the human body absorbs the energy emitted and too much exposure to it is known to increase the risk of cancer.
Separate investigation was conducted for children to answer the question whether there is a significant difference in the risk of developing cancer between children and adults. Children’s nervous systems are still developing the reason why they are more susceptible to factors that may cause cancer.
Their heads are also small which means they have a greater proportional exposure to radio frequency radiation unlike the adults who have larger heads. Furthermore, due to their young age children have more years to exposure to cellphones thus accumulating more harmful energy. Expectant mothers are therefore advised to lessen if not cease the use of cellphone. The radiation causes changes in the chemistry inside the brain and can affect the behavior of the baby.
