We love taking shower after a tiring day. It cleanses our body and soothes our aching muscles. It is our private moment of the day where we ponder and indulge ourselves for refreshment. Although it’s part of our daily routine to shower, we need to remember some important matters that we should never do when we are in the shower.
Here are the things you should never do in the shower:
1. Taking a shower during Lightning. Lightning travels to your pipeline when it strike’s the ground or wiring. There’s a high probability that when lightning flows to your pipelines it will shock you. Lightning can kill you when your shock directly and when strong voltage. It’s better to stay away from the shower when you’re seeing lightning and thunderstorm.
2. Taking shower for too long. It’s tempting to stay longer in the shower. But as much as you want to stay longer, you shouldn’t do that. Taking more time in the shower makes the natural oils of our skin dry out and itchy. Dry skin can be a portal for bacteria to enter our body. It’s better to take a shower not more than 8 minutes to maintain skin’s moisture.
3. Using overused loofah. Loofahs are used for exfoliating, but they are a great source of germs. Clean your loofah every after a shower. Wring it out and hang it to dry. If you think your loofah it needs to be replaced, better replaced it before germs will be living in your loofah.
4. Using shampoo to partially wet hair. It is best to soak your hair with water before using shampoo. Partially wet hair won’t lather efficiently, if that happens you’ll have to use a larger amount of shampoo which does not cost efficient and eco-friendly.
5. Forgetting the feet. When we take a shower, we sometimes focus on our upper body and forget our feet. We just feel that allowing water with soap flow down our feet is enough. We should scrub off our feet to prevent bacteria and fungus from accumulating the feet.
6. Not using mat during shower. Shower area is one of the areas you are prone to slipping. I think most of the people have experienced slipping from the shower room. It is best to put mat during a shower to prevent slipping and keep you from untoward accidents.
7. Still Using Old Showerheads. According to the study from the University of Colorado at the boulder, almost one-third of the showerheads used in our showers contain a lot of diseases causing bacteria. Old showerheads have a lot of areas that are a good area for bacterial growth. You don’t want to get diseases just because you take a shower. Taking a shower should be a way to keep our body clean from dirt and microbes.
8. Lovemaking. You heard me right. I know it’s been projected as a fantasy in most ads and movies. It’s like fulfilling your long time fantasy. Couples doing stuff like lovemaking would create a chance for injury and fractures. We all know that shower room are slippery and wet. We don’t want to experience injury and fracture in that private area by paramedics fully naked and in your private moment.
