    Reasons you’re Not Losing Weight

    After how many weeks and months of struggles in diet and exercise, as you check your weighing scale, there are still no changes in numbers. It is quite upsetting and it makes you feel sad and horrible that you tend to lose hope and loses the will to continue. Hold your horses and don’t stop your journey to weight loss as we answer some reasons you’re not losing weight. It is not the end and it doesn’t mean you are a hopeless case.

    Let’s see and uncover the possible reasons you’re not losing weight and it may lift your spirit and continue reaching your goal.

    1. Lack of water intake. It keeps you well hydrated as it can aid in weight loss. Drinking water before a meal gives a signal of control thus it fills you up faster thus avoiding excessive eating. Drinking water speeds up metabolism and depresses your thirst for sugary and soda drinks. Those are high in calorie and sugar content drinks that can add up on your weight.


    2. Not eating healthy. Most of us when we eat food we often think that we should eat light for us to lose weight. That mindset has an opposite effect on our hormone. Our brain will produce more ghrelin hormone that signals our metabolism to slow down. To maintain the balance of this hormone, we need to eat a satisfying healthy meal rather than a small light meal.

    3. Thinking about exercise more often. Yes, it can give you the push to work out but it has a negative effect on it. Thinking about exercise more often can increase your chances to eat about 50% more as you were thinking of losing those gained calories after exercise. We often presume that we have the right to eat more since we are going to exercise later. It is good to think about it in a neutral way to prevent speculations and advance cravings.

    4. Not enough sleep. Sleeping less than the required numbers of hours of sleep can increase your fat and carbohydrate cravings. Have you observed when you stay up late you tended to munch for unhealthy snacks that are high in calorie and sugar content? If the answer is yes, then that would be one of the reasons we are not losing weight. We should catch some z’s at least 8 hours a day so that in the next morning we will be fresh, recharged and ready to hit the gym and lose those pounds.
    5. Stress. We always face different problems at work, family and relationships that can cause too much stress in our life. When we are under stress, our body produce cortisol, a hormone that increases the amount of fat that is stored in our body.

    6. Your only focus on cardio exercise. Walking, running and cycling alone won’t lead you to your weight loss goals. We need some strength training together with cardio to best lose weight. We need to tone our muscle to burn more fats.

    7. Diet: As the main focus. Diet won’t work in the long run. It will be effective for short period of time but ends up as a failure if the main focus is just to diet. Our primary goal should be to become a new healthier and fitter person with a happy disposition. With that mindset, losing weight won’t be a heavy rock on your shoulders that you want to throw away.
