    6 Reasons Why You Should Stop Eating Junk Food

    Who doesn’t want chips? How about burger and fries? Want some cola? For the past few years, we’ve been introduced to this highly palatable food. Later on, we become addicted to it. It turns out to be our comfort and award food, then it consumes our system and it becomes our daily food intake.
    We didn’t realize the power it possesses in an instant. The whole world has been infected with the worldwide junk food craze. We might not see the other effects of eating junk food as of the moment but in the later part you’ll see, and experience the wrath of junk food for your health.


    To understand what I’m saying, here are 6 reasons why you should stop eating junk foods.

    1. You’ll start gaining unnecessary weight. Do you have some pair of pants and shorts that you are not able to wear anymore? Did you check your weight? Most of the time we just take it for granted by saying maybe I grew up a little bit that’s why I can’t fit it anymore. That would be a possibility but if it keeps up and you’re starting to change all your sizes then I think there is really something going on.

    Junk foods contain a lot of fat, salt, carbohydrate and unprocessed sugar that contributes to weight gain. Nowadays, children are overweight due to the fact that their meals are junk food causing them to gain more calories compare to children who eat a nutritional meal. It’s alarming to see overweight children as they are exposed to such kind of food at an early age. Junk food has low or sometimes no nutritional content that would greatly affect our children’s health condition.

    2. Low nutritional health status. Junk foods lack some nutritional value that can only found by real nutritious food. We need nutrients and minerals to provide our body the needed energy for it to function well. The absence of this nutrients and minerals would cause a lot of detrimental issues to our body system. We tend to be sicklier and gets tired more easily. We sometimes can’t perform the simple task properly and for school children, they tend to suffer school performance issues.

    3. Unstable emotion especially to teens. Teenage years are the time when our body experience hormonal changes and eating nutritional food aids in maintaining the balance of those hormones. The absence of these nutrients can lead to depression, mood swings, and other temper related conditions.

    4. High risk for kidney disease. High salt and fat diet greatly affect our kidneys. Salt and fat alters the sodium-potassium balance and cause hypertension. Our kidney functions as a strainer. It filters all the toxins in our body through our blood. Eating too much junk food can alter kidney’s work.

    5. Can cause digestive problems. The fat that is high in most junk food can irritate our stomach lining. That irritation can cause hyperacidity and acid reflux. The low content of fiber in junk food increases constipation and hemorrhoids.

    6. Higher risk for cardiovascular disease. Junk food contains what we call bad cholesterol that increases in our blood. This bad cholesterol can cause plaque formation that can block the blood flow to our heart that can cause heart attack and other cardio related diseases.
