January 1 marks the New Year of a Gregorian calendar, the internationally accepted calendar. This is also known as the “Western Calendar” or the “Christian Calendar” which was named after Pope Gregory XIII who first introduced it in February 1582. Gregorian calendar and Buddhist calendar has a 543 years difference. The coming 2016 in most part of the world is year 2559 in Thailand.

Except maybe for the cold weather in Western and other countries, as it is really warm in Bangkok, New Year is here.
